43rd Annual Duke Kahanamoku Classic

DATE:  Sunday, August 15, 2010

START TIME: 

WOMEN - 7:30 A.M.

MEN - 9:00 A.M.

YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION

1. Your final crew entry form. Two copies per crew, please.

2. Four (4) copies of your escort boat waiver form. (Men’s crews only.)

3. Your payment - cash or check.

COURSE:

Race Starts (Mens & Womens) subject to change:

Canoes will be in the water at the shoreline w/all 6 paddlers standing outside their seat in the water.  All 6 enter canoe when horn sounds and begin the race.

WOMEN - SHORT COURSE

Kailua Beach Park out to and around Mokolea Rock then back to Kailua Beach around Flat Island to finish line (see attached map)

MEN - LONG COURSE

Kailua Beach Park to Duke Kahanamoku Beach at Hilton Hawaiian Village (see attached map)

Note: Depending upon the tide at race time, the start line may move to an off shore start.

Special Note:

All Participants are required to use boat canvas.  No exceptions!

ELIGIBILITY:

All Hawaii crews must be bona fide members of a club that belongs to Hawaii Canoe Racing Association (HCRA)

Out of state crews must document their home canoe association (e.g. Southern California Outrigger Assn. - SCORA) and must sign an HCRA waiver.  Out of state paddlers must be 18 years of age or older.

Each paddler in a crew is required to be a member of the same club for which they paddle.  Club transfer paperwork must be complete prior to registration.  See attached information for OHCRA long distance registration.

ENTRY FEE:

Women Iron $150.00
Girls U18 Iron $120.00
Men Distance $250.00
Boys U18 Distance $180.00

REGISTRATION:

Pre-Registration*

Saturday, August 14, 2010
10:00AM - 12:00PM
at the Kailua Canoe Halau across from Buzz's Restaurant

$10.00 fee if escort boat waiver is not turned in with all the registration forms.
Late fee of $25 will be assessed on race day.

Race Day Registration

On site registration 8/15/10 will be available from 6:30 to 8:30 A.M.

Women registration  6:30AM - 7:00AM
Men   7:30AM - 8:30AM

By Mail:

Final entry forms and a check may be mailed/postmarked to arrive at the Registrar's address not later than Friday, August 14. 2010.  Changes to entry forms may be made at either the Saturday or Sunday registration times/location.  Note: $10.00 fee if escort boat waiver is not turned in with all the registration forms.
