

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
2009 DUKE RACE
OHCRA has asked us to inform you that you are to bring with you to
registration:
1. Your long distance roster.
2. Waivers for all paddlers participating in your long distance
program.
NOTE: You should already have waivers for all
paddlers who participated in regatta season.
3. Any transfer forms for paddlers transferring between clubs
and/or Associations, both on Oahu or from another island association.
IN ADDITION, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION
1. Your final crew entry form. Two copies per crew, please.
2. Four (4) copies of your escort boat waiver form. (Men’s crews only.)
3. Your payment - cash or check.

ATTENTION
STARTING LINE:
1.
For both the women's and men's events, canoes
will be in the water at the shoreline w/all 6 paddlers standing
outside their seat in the water. All 6 enter canoe when
horn sounds and begin the race.
Note: Depending upon the tide at race time, the
start line may move to an off shore start.
2. All Mens crews will begin
at the same time (vice staggered start) this year.
Canoe Cover Requirements:
1. All boats must have canvas. No
exceptions.
START AND FINISH:
1. Participating clubs are responsible for the removal of
all tires and trash that they bring to the race.
ESCORT BOATS:
1. Coaches, please inform
your escort boat drivers, that they must moor their boats so
that they do not interfere with either the start or finish of
the women’s race. The area from the first swimmers buoy near the
boat ramp, extending toward Kailua/Kaneohe, and in front of and
around Flat Island must be kept clear for the safety of the

WOMENS RACE:
Special Awards Ceremony - please stay for your
award and food/refreshments.

T-SHIRTS
Patagonia Capilene shirts will be
given to all race participants.
